Vuurzee Champagne beer
Classification: Cuvée de Prestige
Color: Light goud
Country: Netherlands
Region: Het Gooi
Producer: De Goede & De Stoute, Soest
Grape varieties: Pinot Noir
Grains: Barley
Hops: Cascade and Magnum
Yeast: Champagne yeast
Character: By using champagne yeast from the famous French region of Reims, Vuurzee gets its extremely pleasant soft mousse and its slightly mineral and lactic finish. The hand-picked Hungarian Pinot Noir grapes ensure that Vuurzee gets a fruity character. This beautifully balances the typical bitterness found in beer.
Beer preparation: After the addition of the hand-picked grapes and fermentation with champagne yeast, Vuurzee matures for at least 3 months in the bottle before being delivered. Vuurzee 2019 has had 14 months of bottle aging and has therefore acquired its beautiful round creamy yet extremely fresh taste.
Producer information: Our beer has made a true ascent onto the world stage of high gastronomy. De Goede & De Stoute is the first beer brand in the Netherlands that brews beer specifically and exclusively for the world of high gastronomy. We show the world that it is possible to serve beer with the finest dishes, in the best restaurants, and in the most unique places. Our beer is recognized by renowned chefs, sommeliers, and gourmets as a very good and above all surprising meal companion. De Goede & De Stoute was born out of the desire to do things differently, from the wish to create a beer that deserves a place at the high culinary table where until now we have almost exclusively found wines and spirits. Where diverse flavors and aromas find their way to gastronomic enthusiasts, where quality and experience come together and people with passion and dedication use the best products to create the finest dishes and combinations. De Goede & De Stoute owes its right to exist to gourmets.
The brand story:
Burgundians: Bon vivants and patriarchs of the Low Countries. The dukes Philip the Good & Charles the Bold played a crucial role in 1464 in shaping Dutch history. The flamboyant dukes brought quality and style to the North during their reign and were at the beginning of what we now call “the Burgundian lifestyle.” In this era, we play a crucial role in shaping the Dutch beer landscape and stand for the Burgundian heritage of our forgotten heroes, Philip the Good & Charles the Bold.
Serving suggestions: Vuurzee is perfect to pour for dinner, as an aperitif or with an amuse-bouche. During dinner, Vuurzee serves as a full-fledged partner for the most diverse dishes. From oysters, caviar, mussels, lobster, scallops, duck breast, veal cheek, foie gras, rack of lamb to slow-cooked beef ribs and pork belly. Vuurzee also pairs excellently with various cheeses.
Serving temperature: The ideal drinking temperature for Vuurzee is between 8-10 degrees and is best enjoyed in a wine glass or open flute.
Other information: We have consciously chosen to leave the yeast in the bottle, allowing the flavor to continue evolving.
