My name is Max Wandt, Chef and owner of Colibrí Cocina Mexicana. At the age of 14, , I started working in the hospitality industry, and I have never left since. After a few years of part-time jobs, I started chef training. There, I quickly realized that I ultimately wanted to start something of my own.
In 2020, I traveled to Mexico and learned all about Mexican cuisine. At the restaurant where I worked, the chefs knew how to combine authentic Mexican flavors flawlessly. I felt the passion for the food and knew I had to bring it back to the Netherlands.
I returned to Arnhem to open my own restaurant. In April 2023, Colibrí Cocina Mexicana opened its doors. We are a modern Mexican restaurant with a focus on quality. Everything we serve is homemade. At Colibrí, we combine the real flavors of Mexico with modern cooking techniques.
